Not to replace your annual vet visit
Other things you might not even have thought of that are observed and included in the services in Woofters?
When your dog is here for a grooming session he/she is getting a full body check over, it is not just the coat that gets attention.
Body:-
If we notice any lumps or bumps on the body we will take note and inform you.
Also Body Scoring:-
Weight and diet advice. Sometimes a few pounds need to be shed or put on and there are so many foods available it can be mind boggling.
Teeth:-
Advice is given on dental hygiene. A scaling can be carried out with your permission*, if the dog allows it and if the gum condition is suitable for me to proceed
* Dental Scaling is an extra charge of €15.00
Ears:-
Excess hair is removed from the ear canal. The ears are wiped out with a soothing ear cleaner. Any inflammation present will be noted. Ears needing veterinary attention prior to grooming session cannot be attended to by the groomer as the vet may need to take a swab of the ear to determine the best course of treatment.
Eyes:-
Excess hair will be trimmed from the eye area and the eyes checked for any visible irritation.
Skin:-
Checked for parasites and/or any irritations and shampoo is chosen accordingly.
Joint mobility:-
While handling your dog any soreness, resistance or arthritic changes can be noted. Lack of muscle on one side can also be noted which can point to joint issues.
Younger dog issues:-
Are all the teeth developing normally? Temporary teeth hampering new teeth growth? Or causing a food trap?
Younger boy dogs:-
Are both testicles developing or dropped?
Younger Girl dogs:-
Any sign of that first season, advice on dealing with it.
Older dogs issues:-
